Hi Gemma

Welcome to Rootchat  ;D

So we don't duplicate your efforts, where have you checked already?

Have you considered cremation?

Had he separated from his wife, and/or do you know where she is buried?

Hi ive checked Ancestry, find my past, geneology. I asked somebody in west sussex to research cremations and there was no record. They said they couldnt search all parishes. So im stuck. Or it would cost a fortune. Maybe ill have to go down that route.
Also tried chichester cemetry and nothing

They asked if it could maybe have been a paupers funeral as he was in debt.

Thanks

The nearest crematorium at that time would have been Porchester

http://www.portchestercrematorium.org/intro.aspx

Chichester didn't open until 1971.

Even if there wasn't a lot of money a funeral would still have been paid for.

If he's not in the parish churchyard then you need to look at cemeteries.

Maybe try here

Cromar seems to be a Scottish surname, where are his parents buried(is it in Scotland)
Maybe he went back to be buried with his family?

Arthur was born in Islington, registered in Holborn District 1897.  1911 census indicates that the family were from Islington. so any Scottish ancestry was not recent.
