Thank you so much Ciderdrinker that looks very good I had missed them completely. It is odd how some of the children seem not to be baptised  from both families I haven't got a Thomas for Joseph Lewis either must do a bit more digging around him and this Richard Stan(d)l(e)y

The marriage for Thomas and Jane is on Freereg and gives him as 23
The 1861 census has them in Moreton in the marsh

Thomas Lewis 35 cold metal dealer Sedgley
Jane  33 Sedgley
Thomas 10 Sedgley

Just can't see him before their marriage.

Just for interest and to add even more credance to your idea. When Richard Stanley married Mary Hickmans one of the witnesses was Benjamin Aston. He married Mary Lewis in 1816 she being the sister of Joseph Lewis who married Sarah Stanley in 1806.Benjamin was an executor of the will of Charles Lewis father of Mary and Joseph who was married to Hannah Hickmans  so I wont be surprised to find the Hickmans linking up some how. I believe that the travelling comunity tend to marry within their own community and many of these were metal dealers or sand men so its looking more and more like I have come across trvellers or Gypsy stock ...how very interesting its proving to be. But Charles has left at least three, maybe four houses in his will, so is that likely to be the case umm I'll keep an open mind and keep digging
