Kings Norton Cemetery/Old Kings Norton Cemetery
« on: Wednesday 22 November 17 09:18 GMT (UK) »
Hope this is the right Board :-\
Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with a query I have and don't seem to be able to find the answer. I know there is a Kings Norton Cemetery. But i have found references to "Old Kings Norton Cemetery". Are these two different Cemetries ? or are they the same and why the reference to Old. Does anyone know when it/they opened please

Many thanks
Brummygirl  :)

Brandwood End Cemetery was opened in 1899 by the Kings Norton and Northfield Urban District Council and taken over by the Birmingham City Council on the extension of the city in 1911. The postal address is Woodthorpe Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 6EQ.

Kings Norton Cemetery was opened in 2004 by Birmingham City Council.  The postal address is Longdales Road, Kings Norton, Birmingham, B38 9BU.

There's also the church cemetery of St. Nicolas on The Green in the village.

I suppose it depends on the date you are looking at.

Obvious answer, perhaps  :-\  Why don't you contact the cemetery and ask them the question?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
