Samuel Brearley - emigration to USA
« on: Wednesday 22 November 17 13:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Could someone please help me track down an ancestor of mine Samuel Brearley. I know that he was born in Manchester UK about 1849. I have tracked him up to the 1901 census, he was then living in Middlesex with his wife Susannah. After this they do not appear on the 1911 census but i believe he may have emigrated to the USA between 1901 and 1911. I am looking for details on this and any information would be helpful.

Regards

Was his full name Samuel Chadwick Brearley?

Looks like he died June 12,1910 Govan,Scotland.(National Scotland Probate Calendar on A*try).

Hi, Chadwick was not on the baptism record but his mothers maiden name was Mary Chadwick - it would explain why he does not appear on the 1911 census but not why his wife is not on the census.

Just doing a free search of the 1911 census on Scotlands People it looks as though Susannah and some of the children were in Govan.

 :)

There's a death for Susannah Mary Brearley age 75 1944 Tradeston that looks like it would fit.

Good luck!
