Have you tried local newspapers in case there is a report of his funeral

No, Rosie, I haven't but it's a good idea. I'll follow it up. Thanks.

In the 1851 census he's a hand loom weaver fancy vesting lodging in Shelley, he then moves to or visits Liverpool and is a master grocer when he dies.

Have you found 62 Islington in a directory or the 1851 census to see who is living there/ what business is carried out there?

Who registered his death?

Which burial grounds have you tried in Liverpool?

Hello - I've tried to find who was living at 62 Islington on the 2 censuses on either side of his death. But, as I haven't access to Find My Past I can't search by address. I have trawled through them via Ancestry and searched the 1890 O.S map for nearby streets to help. No success so far!!

I haven't looked on Trade Directories yet.

The informant was John Preston resident in Shelley, who was also a witness on his marriage certificate to Susan Eastwood. So I am certain that the death certificate is correct.

I have searched as many burial records as I can online. Also his burial does not appear on the National Burial Index.
Many thanks for your interest.

If I have the correct marriage for Allen Townend the witness was John Preston Mark Townend.

My ancestors in the Islington area are buried at Low Hill Cemetery sometimes called Necropolis. Their records are available on Family Search.

This is how I do it

Go to the website of the Liverpool & S W Lancashire FHS www.liverpool- genealogy.org.uk and then go to the Forum ( you may wish to join their forum as well as here) then scroll down the page to Family Search links click on that and then click on the Liverpool PRs and then find the relevant bit.

You will need to create a log in for the family search site. Having found Low Hill you have to find the relevant years and scroll through the film. They are not indexed.
