Was the name Davies or Davis? On the same image I linked for Griffies/Griffiths are confectioners called Davies but none are Davis:-

It's probably wise to buy a couple of certificates so you have some names to work with, especially with common surnames, you have to be careful that you are following the right families. You might find occupations listed on the certificate/s tie in with shop keeper, maybe even an address.

I ha e had A look on ancestry  and by the looks of it there was the only davis that owned a confectioner shop on 9 fox street in Liverpool.. only problem is the whole street has been knocked down... shame can not see any old photos
