Margaret Jean Nelmes died 16/3/2016 aged 91 (Ipswich Star death announcement) so no need to be moved by moderator.

Does the 1939 register say where Herbert was born? Can't find any Herbert S. born in Durham in 1901 or 1911 census

Herbert born 4 Sept 1892.

Two possible births. One in South Shields the other Hartlepool

I have only found a Bertie Stephenson in 1911 and 1901 born Carlisle.

GRO shows Bertie Edgar Stephenson mmn Edgar.

Marriage for Robert S. and Ann Edgar 1891.

The Hartlepool birth Herbert is on anc* mistranscibed as Stepheson, a farm worker  at Castle Eden on 1911

Notwithstanding whether I have the correct Herbert Stephenson or not, I have found Dora Darling in 1901, aged 6, born Swainston, Durham.

She is with William 45, Ellen 48 and siblings Mary E 20, Elizabeth A 17, Emily 15, Grace 12, Francis W 4.

I realise that there are age gaps but even odder is that Dora and Emily have mmn as "Greyson" and the others "Pickett".....

There is a marriage between William D. and Ellen Greyson in 1877.

The only Ellen Gre(a)yson born 1853ish married Samuel Simmonite in 1869....

Any thoughts?
