Hi BumbleB

I did originally think that she was the legitimate child of George Perkin Hyde and Felicia his wife.
However, as you can see from the 1841 and 1851 census Maria's surname is just 'Perkin' (or Nerkin on FindMyPast)

George Perkin and Felicia Hyde did not marry, and Felicia Hyde died 1838.

This family certainly isn't a simple one that followed the rules of marriage then children anyway. :)
Perhaps George and Felicia were going to marry, but we'll never know.

Apologies, but I think that you should follow CaroleW's advice and obtain Felicia Hyde's death certificate.  I can see from the burial entry that there is no further information regarding Felicia, other than that she died of "Decline".

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

oh thanks BumbleB
I had missed the word 'decline'

yes I will buy the certificate, although that probably wont help with her baptism/birth.

However, it might help with the baptism - it may also help to prove/disprove that her original surname was or wasn't Hyde  :-\  :-\

hi all.
The death certificate for this Felicia Hyde arrived today.

Felicia died the 18 January 1838 at Lawley Street, Parish of Aston.
Profession - Warehouse woman.
Cause of death- decline.
registered by Mother, Catherine Hyde of Lawley street, on 25 January 1838.

I guess this proves that Felicia is the daughter of Thomas and Catherine, even if no baptism can be found.
