Help please with Merchant Seamen and their records

Dawn, you are doing a sterling job It is all very confusing.
There is a tree on Ancestry Chief Ahmed 1898 to 1928 which if correct confirms he married Mary Jane Williamson Marshall and had three children. Father Saleh Ahmed
Chief Ahmed 6994  born 1901 is said to have a scar on forehead(eyebrow?), the black and white photo might show a scar.
But I think you are right they are two different people.
Small piece in local paper 18 June 1931 about Chief Ahmed 31 a fireman of Francis Street, South Shields was accused of wounding William Ryecroft and remanded for 8 days.

Hello all

I was quite specific in my request for this topic as the previous topic had grown legs and gone off in several directions.

The tree on Ancestry does not belong to Gaming's father and has caused confusion. The name is a coincidence. To a Geordie (and many English speaking) ear Sharif sounds like Chief.

The reason I asked people to ignore the name on this topic was to establish if possible why Gaming's father had a Merchant Seamen's Certificate of Discharge issued in Canada, nothing else.

It is obvious from the posts by Gaming that he does not speak English as a first language and has been overwhelmed as many newbies are by the speed of replies and their number. He may have also been using an online translator which does always provide accurate translations.

I'm grateful for the suggestions as to why the Merchant Seamen's Certificate of Discharge is Canadian in origin, the reasons are more than plausible.

I agree some clarification is needed.

Gaming's father was born in Aden in 1901 and spent some time in England specifically South Shields between 1925 and 1933. (original post on this thread)
