Hi

Before you do that, why not try turning the router off at the mains, then your ipad, then turn both back on, router first?

What has been known to happen is that the router can be affected if it is on the same ring as, say, a fridge or freezer, et al, when the motors kick in.

Another is if your router is using the same wifi channel(s) as nearby other dweiilings.
Not difficult to change but does depend on make/models and having the correct menu options.
Experienced support staff would carry out easily.

Why not g@@gle your router model and see what instructions are around,
OR, post here and one of "us" can look it up?

I use this quick way to fix these annoying issues:
PRESS and HOLD both the ON/OFF and the HOME button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears, then release. The ipad will do its thing for a minute or so, reset and return to the home/password screen.

Adding: This vid shows three ways to reset. I use the second method as decribed above.

Yes, I've fixed things that way before as well.

If you are using safari on your iPad internet page as I am, have you tried deleting your browsing history? That can sometimes unblock stuff and is really easy to do.
Go to settings on the first page of your iPad and click on it. Scroll down the list of programmes until you see Safari. Click on that and you'll see a list appear down the right hand side of the page. Scroll down that list till you see 'clear history and website data.'  On mine, that option is in blue, but I don't know if it's blue on all iPads. Click on that and it'll clear your cache as it's called. It's safe and doesn't affect your favourites. Worst thing you might have to do is sign in to pages like rootschat is you always stay logged in.

Another thing to try is clearing your screen of pages. When you look at your iPad screen you only see the one you have open, but hidden behind are the screens you've used recently. To remove those- a bit like clearing up the top of your desk- double click your home button and then simply swipe the pages upwards and they'll close. It doesn't spoil anything, simply tidies things up.
You can also do both these things if you have an iPhone using exactly the same instructions. My daughter taught me how to do both to tidy up!

Step one----- I deleted my Google app and then used Safari to get another Google app and downloaded that. Will use iPad tomorrow on various sites and see if they stay put or not !

Thanks also to candleflame

If not I'll try another idea. Will let you all know. Poli  :)

The replacing of the Google app didn't work sadly, still losing various sites after a few minutes SO, have tried pressing the on/off button and the home button till the Apple logo appeared as has been suggested and will see if that helps-----watch this space. Poli

Let us know if you find a solution.  :) You can also consider phoning Apple Support who may be able to offer some suggestions.

You may like to bite the bullet and reset your network settings after saving anything of value on the ipad. There are lots of step by step instructions online about how to save to the cloud if you would like to go down that route first.

Good luck.

The on/off buttons etc. suggestions may have helped----- not too many sites slipping away at the present time and can live with that.  :) Must admit that from Googling 'reset' am not too keen to try it! Will wait and see if it gets irksome again.

Thanks to all again for suggestions and interest. Poli.
