I agree with the "d" thing - i see "David" there.

However, I'm not sure about Elizabeth being a Mahon/Mehan. When you look at the capital "M" in McLaughlin, Murphy, etc., it is completely different - it has a distinct curl at the beginning.

Makes me wonder if Lizzy wasn't perhaps an Usher or something...

Just my two penn'th.  :)

Karen

Edit: Having said that, I've just noticed a Murphy in there without the curl...  ::)

I see it as Elizabeth Mehan and David Moore

Agree with this, except that I think it could possibly be Daniel - so 50:50 David: Daniel

The writer is very inconsistent with the writing of 'M' isn't he!   Several with curls and several/even more without.

Just noticed that all the other entries on the list have the male first. I wonder why this is different?

Where and when did the marriage* take place?

Added - also a lone Wm Doherty at the end - are these witnesses or ....  ???
            * are they marriage entries

I wondered about that too!

 - wondered if it was because they all belonged to the parish - except in that one case, where the female did?

That is what I want to know also.

I did an addition, Wiggy. I'm wondering if they are witnesses or sponsors

Now I am wondering if they are court cases - is that a 'V' between the names?

Surely not.   :-\

The OP says it's a register and refers to the couple, so not clear at all,  at all :-\

I think it's an ampersand.
