Thanks guys

On reflection, Elizabeth & Archibald had two sons Andrew & Robert who did not appear to emigrate to Australia, I presumed they had died in Scotland but looking back they would have been adults if they were still living & could simply have remained in Scotland. The Watt Family researchers from the U.S. branch stated that Elizabeth died in Australia but that could have been just an assumption knowing that she had emigrated here. I will check the census records & maybe order this death certificate, perhaps Elizabeth did return to Scotland afterall. Thank you so much for all your help I have been going around in circles with this one

You don't need to order the certificate - the register entry is available on Scotlands People, at a cost of 6 credits. I gave you the reference in my earlier post.

Thank you Johnf04 already done...realised as soon as I posted, it appears Elizabeth did return to Scotland I have her death record & there's no mistake. The 1911 Scottish census, however, has her living with one of her younger sons, Alexander & his young family in scotland but I have a death for Alexander in NSW Australia 1961, which poses the question did Alexander return to Scotland at some point & then return to Australia or did he actually remain in Scotland when the family emigrated at the age of 15. But that's another area to chase up if I choose to go that far. my main issue was finding Elizabeth & I have done that with the help of all you wonderful people

Thank you all so much

Thank you, Lu. I'm pleased it was your relation, Kim. Alexander will be on shipping lists from Britain to Australia, if he returned there - they are on Ancestry.
