The parish would be Llanfair-Is-Gaer.
Parish records will almost certainly be at Caernarfon Record Office.

Since it was N-C (Presbyterian ?), the only three place I can think of are
(i) Bangor University archives
(ii) Caernarfon archives
(iii) National library of wales.

I've been doing the same type of thing myself, and there is a current list of held material on the internal computers at NLW. If you look at the Welsh language section, you'll find someone referring me to this :

Tan y Maes is 482, but no marriages seem to be mentioned. I think 'TNA' is 'The National Archive'.
Welsh N-C marriage records everywhere seem to be very thin on the ground, which I found surprising, unless the answer is staring me in the face.

Thank you for the replies,,,i was hoping to find some marriages and also any information about my family history, i have found from numerous books that my great grandfather x6 Robert williams was  well known as a Blaenwr at tanymaes, and helped build the chapel and was a very well known gigure, according to hobley..

i have managed to find his and his wife burial dates from Aberystwyth "buried in llanfairisgaer"

what i dont understand, and hoping to find is their burial location,"apparently No matches" but i am guaranteed they are there  in 1838 and 1846, and when Rw died in 1838 his wife jane was Living by individual means.... but apparently there is no burial headstone which i find very very hard to believe

Hi Neil
In answer to Huwcyn's observation that NC marriage records are thin on the ground I note that the majority of "Christening/Birth" records are prior to 1837. With regard to marriages the 1753 Marriage Act stipulated that marriages could only be conducted by the Church of England, Quakers and under Jewish Law. It wasn't until the 1836 Marriage Act that civil marriages were reintroduced and also allowed non-conformist ministers to act as registrars. Therefore no marriages took place in NC chapels before 1837. Robert Williams would therefore have married in a parish church.
With regard to the lack of a burial stone even when the person is prominent I have found this has happened with some of my ancestors. However, since the burial register state that they were buried in Llanfair-is-gaer cemetery they will be there. Yffor.com confirmed LLGC by transcribing burial records up to 1840:
239  Robert  Williams  Garreg Goch  09/02/1838  86  James Parry
Gwynedd FHS have two A4 booklets covering the MIs in Y Santes Fair. It might be worth checking with Caernarfon Archives to see if they have copies.

Hi Neil
It was quite common in Wales at that time for some married women to retain their maiden name. Do you know what Jane's maiden name was?
