James Standley/Stanley Brickwall
« on: Sunday 26 November 17 14:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone
I have James Standley christened 25 July 1792 Marton, parents William and Catherine.

I can't find a marriage or death so I don't know what happened to him or where he went.
If anyone has any ideas of how to trace him, I would appreciate it.
                              Carol

Not sure if this is your man or not but a Joseph Standley married a Mary Bench in Southam 1 September 1814.

They appear in the 1841 Census living in Southam. HO107/1138/16/F19/p4

Possible death although age is out

Joseph Stanley aged 67 Sep 1849 Southam 16 365

Southam is 4 1/2 miles from Marton according to Genuki.

Thanks or looking
James did have a brother Joseph born 1783.  He married Agnes Cleaver 1 Oct 1807  She had William Cleaver born 21 Oct 1804 she took him to court and named Joseph as the father.  They also had a daughter Maria born 13 april 1808 Coventry. .  I did wander if he married again.

So sorry - that will teach me to read posts properly. My husband has a  Stanley branch in his tree so I looked to see if there was a James. His link is a Joseph and I think the name just stuck in my brain and off I went happily looking for a Joseph. Sorry to have wasted your time.
