Two Dartford deaths
« on: Sunday 26 November 17 20:42 GMT (UK) »
Trying to research a brother and sister, siblings of one of my direct ancestors. I think I find them living in Dartford at the time of the 1841 census. As far as I can tell they died before 1851. Looking in FreeBMD, I find the likely dates of death, one in 1848, the other in 1850, and have decided to get hold of the death certificates to verify that I have the right people. However, going onto the Kent CC 'search for a death cert' site, and feeding in the names and years of death I'm getting back 'nothing found'. Does someone with experience of this search facility have any suggestions? The people concerned are (died 1848) Richard Page (born Darenth 1771) and (died 1850) Hannah Page (born Wilmington 1780).

Many thanks to you both, I'm so grateful in particular for the ages, neither of which tally with the people I'm interested in. I know I have their DOBs correctly, as I found images of their baptismal records at City Ark. I think I need to go over my research yet again, and to look again at 1851 to make sure I haven't missed them. Best wishes.

Are they a married couple?

Were where they in 1841 and what job did he do?

If I have the right people, they were brother and sister. The 1841 census simply records Richard Page as 'Ind'. In 1841, living with Richard and Hannah were Sarah Page, 20, daughter, I think, of Richard's brother Henry ... and one George Page, aged 5, a small mystery!
