Annie; clean up and possible colour please.
« on: Wednesday 29 November 17 10:04 GMT (UK) »
This photo [back notated December 1930] includes the only photo we have of Annie.[Lt.]
Unfortunately in her final year at the local school, she was the worst affected by the spread of highly contagious Mumps.  While very ill [high fever] she experienced the first of her Epilepsy Seizures.

Living in the country it proved too hard getting medical attention when she needed, and shortly after this photo was taken, she was institutionalized, and remained in care, for close to 40 years. Being over 60 miles away from family, it was a mad dash between milkings to visit her.

Alan.

Thanks all,
for your brilliant efforts on our behalf. I posted and went to bed, only to find while I was asleep the photo had not only been accepted, but beautifully restored, and or tinted, by your magic hand and eye. Enough to bring a tear to my eye.

I have two Annie recollections. First meeting her at her Father’s cowshed, when I was just a small school boy, and she in her late 30’s.  With a twinkle in her eye she boldly announced you’re Alan, and then said, “Arithmetic is a very big word. How do you spell it ?”

As I started to reply “A..r..”  she broke out into hysterical giggling, and it was some time before she replied with, “Not when I went to school ! Got ya !” Must admit it took me a while to realize how she had got me.

The second was when I was asked to be one of her pall bearers.

THANKYOU.
Alan.
