Thanks Maureen,

I had it from a cousin of mine the Birth year was abt. 1890 for John Joseph. I found a birth cert record on Irishgeneaology for a John Holland March 1891 in Cork. Father George Holland with occupation as a  Tailor ( all good there then) and Mother Mary ( which matches the 1901 Census record Maureen linked). But John should be 10 and is aged 12 on the census.
In 1911 census i found a 'similar' family but with discrepancies in ages. Same street different house number.
1901 George 50/60 1911 (ten years later) 73
1901 Mary 45or 46 1911 ("") 60
1901 Mary can read and write 1911 Mary cannot read
1901 John 12 1911 John is 20

there are other things consistent or coincidental in both Census: George in Both is a Tailor Born in England and ALL children born in Cork

I agree with Avm and Billyblue that the name of his father is Geo[rge] Holland

I already agreed with them. Once I realised my mistake!

of course you are all correct ;D.
I found birth and marriage records for my GF's brother George (Junior). Fathers name is very clearly George 'the tailor'

I hope someone can help find Birth date/place for my GGF and GGGF :D
George Holland (Tailor) died Cork 5 Feb 1918 aged 64
Death cert puts birth year at 1954 but 1901 Irish census has him aged 50 born in England so ~ 1950 or 1951
George Holland(Senior) Married Mary Murphy 29 Nov 1879 CORK - SS. PETER & PAUL
Father: William (tailor...deceased)
address for George 29 Nov 1879 , Phillips Lane. I found this to be in Cork City. So not a family address , I guess, but temporary after arriving from England

Help please :)

Assuming you mean 1850/1854 - there are over 120 births of people named George Holland between 1850 and 1854, so it is going to be hard unless you know whereabouts in England........

And I can see 10 on 1861 census with a father called William
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

My meaning was 1850 or 1851 (following the 1901 Census, as his age was given as 50)
OR1854 (following the death certificate, age died 64)
I am inclined to think the death cert to be correct

Returning to my 'Brickwall' on GGF.

I found what I think is a 'possible' family in England.
1851 UK Census
William Holland 24 Born Manchester, Lancashire Occupation: Power Loom Weaver (Cotton)
Sarah Holland 23 Glossop, Derbyshire  Occupation: Power Loom Weaver (Cotton)
Martha Holland Daughter Female 2 Wettram, Cheshire
George Henry Holland Son Male 0 Saddleworth, Yorkshire
Mary Cassady Servant Female 21 Ireland  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SP9L-XQS

1861 UK Census
Sarah Holland 34 Married Occupation : Cotton Weaver
Martha Holland 12 Occupation: Cotton Piecer
George H Holland 10 Occupation: Cotton Piecer
John Holland 7 at school
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7JK-PGC?id=G6M4-PGS

Father William is not with them on 1861 Census. I cant' find them on 1871 Census

When my GGF George was married in Cork in 1879 his father William was listed as a 'Tailor' and deceased.
Power loom Weaver, not a million miles away from 'Tailor'.

Where is George Henry Holland after 1861 UK Census?
