Help to figure out Great Grandfather's name
« on: Wednesday 29 November 17 12:30 GMT (UK) »
I have a copy of my Grandfather's marriage cert. I would like some help on GGF's christian name. I was between Joseph or George. I thought as GF's middle name was Joseph .... GGF's may also be Joe. But the hand written first letter was too different.
I tracked the address '53 Phibsboro Road ' in and around the date on marriage cert. >:( >:( No Holland in records. 1914 and 1915 Electoral Roll for 53 Phibsboro Rd gives 'Mary Anne Brennan ' as Inhabitant/Householder. As my GGF was a tailor I tried Thoms and found 'Mrs Brennan ' listed at 53 Phibsborough Road in 1915.
I have info from many years ago in my head from my late father that his family came from Cork (St Margarets Place/Street/Road....

Any thoughts? Geo....Joe....Leo....

He's signed as John Joseph

So Jos?

That’s the name of the groom whose name has been entered as John Jos Holland.

I agree with Avm and Billyblue that the name of his father is Geo[rge] Holland
