There was a marriage Clement P Sells to Mary A Jones - St George Hanover Square London - 1a 1113 - registered Q4 of 1918.
Didn't come across a birth for Sells/Jones.

Royal Army Medical Corps, attached to the Royal Air Force.

Clement Sells was born on 6th September 1889 in Golders Green, London. He was the son of Vincent Perronet Sells of Highfield, Oxford. He married Mary A Jones in December 1918.

He was educated at Magdalen College School, and came to Merton as an Exhibitioner in 1908.

He enlisted in the 2nd London Field Ambulance, RAMC on the outbreak of hostilities in 1914 and went out to France in January of the following year. After several months, he returned home to complete his medical studies at the Middlesex Hospital.

He went back to France in January 1916, where he participated in the Somme operations. Invalided home with trench fever in October of the same year, Sells returned to the front in early 1917, when he was attached to the 1/8th Middlesex Regiment. He was subsequently present at Vimy Ridge that April, and was awarded the Military Cross, for gallantry during fighting west of Cambrai, on 3rd June 1918.

He next took up an appointment with 83rd Wing, Royal Air Force, but was once again invalided home in December 1918 and died as a result "of the after-effects of trench fever" at the RAF Hospital, Swanage, Dorset, on 4th July 1919, aged 29. He is buried at Northbrook Cemetery, Swanage, Dorset

The age for this passenger is in the "male " column I think - very faint scan

There was a marriage Clement P Sells to Mary A Jones - St George Hanover Square London - 1a 1113 - registered Q4 of 1918.
Didn't come across a birth for Sells/Jones.


Copy of licence application on Ancestry, it states Mary was a spinster, so not looking for a different mmn from Jones.

It doesn't look like Clement had any direct descendants.
Can't see Muriel on 1930 US census. Unless she had married by then.

USA seems an odd place for a missionary to go. All others I've seen have been far east or Africa

Canada Ocean Arrivals (Form 30A) shows Muriel Annie Perronch Sells (as transcribed) born Braeside Yorks 1888 and aged 34 years - aqrriving Quebec July 1922 on the Minnedosa. Passing through to Japan and China - destined to Hong Kong - nearest relative Mr H M Sells - Pearl Haven Canford Cliffs Bournemouth.

N.B. Nearest relative could be Henry Martin Sells shown on Dorset Electoral Registers at
Pearlhaven in 1921 - also at that address Jessie Ada Sells and Leonard Perronet Sells. 

Edward De Grave Sells (the Uncle of Muriel and Clement - brother of there father Vincent)  The probate for Edward De grave Sells who passed away Grennell Beaufort Road Reigate Surrey 2 December 1920 at 86 Doods Road Reigate Surrey.  mentioned Henry Martin Sells (director)

According to National Provate Calendar Henry Martin Sells (Uncle of Muriel) of villa Eveline 1 Strada San Martino San Remo Italy passed away 20 August 1924 - probate London 2 february to Jessie Ada Sells  and Leonard Perronet Sells  (gentleman) (mentioned in post above)

Henry Martin Sells born in 1862 was brother of Vincent Perronet Sells - Muriels father)
Parents of Henry Martin Sells was Vincent Perronet Sells and Jessie Clements.

Leonard P Sells passed away March 1934 - Uckfield Sussex.

Sister of Leonard - Evelyn Jessie Sells (daughter of Henry Martin Sells and Jessie Ada Clements) married Walter Ferguson Leadbitter - 22 May 1914 - Branksome Park, Dorset. Poole - 5a 637

Evelyn J Leadbitter passed away June 1962 New Forest Hampshire. 6b 353

Couple appear to have had a son (Bryan fergusson leadboitter - birth registered September 1919 - 1d 1586) and daughter Barbara - birth registered June 1916 - 1d 1963  - sadly the son Sub Lieut. Bryan Fergusson Leadbitter R N V R HMS Victory was a casualty of WW2 - passed away 27 December 1940 - father Canon Walter Ferguson Leadbitter B A  and mother Evelyn Jessie Leadbitter of Dibden Hampshire.
Bryan recorded on Commonwealth Graves Memorial Register.

Edward De Grave Sells born 1860 - brother to Vincent - Uncle of Clement - Edward did not marry until 9 July 1906 St Leonard, Streatham, Lambeth  - was listed as a bachelor on his marriage to Beatrice Leonora Kilburn. Edward was an accountant to a public company. The couple had a daughter Eileen Beatrice Delgrave Sells in 1909 and a son John Edward de Grave Sells in 1911.

John Edward Sells - passed away 19 November 1986 Woodlands Haroldslea Drive Horley -  probate Brighton 13 March 1987 -

Eileen Beatrice de Grave Sells - married 24 September 1932 - Reigate, St Mary, Surrey. Spouse Philip George Ellis Pym.
Eileen Beatrice De Grave Pym born 25 December 1908 passed away November 1989 Eileen Beatrice De Grave Pym - volume 17 - page 1384
