The bells of Christ Church, at North Shields will ring tonight in remembrance of one of their former bell ringers - John Thomas Hogg, service number 555172.  The bells will toll in a 45 minute tribute starting at 1730 hours.

John died exactly one hundred years today serving in the Great War.   His photo and a detailed write up of his story can be seen by clicking on the link below for that great website 'North East War Memorials Project' website.
