I am trying to find out more about Edward Charles Benney d.o.b 21/9/1907 born in Illogan Cornwall.

I have found him on the 1911 census as an inmate age 3 at Illogan workhouse.

I have also found records at the National Archives for his time in the Royal Navy Reserves Service

I haven't been able to find a birth record for him any where.

I believe he married Florence Hutchens in 1929 and died in 1977 in St Ives.

I have located him on the 1939 register living in St Ives with his family

I would like to identify his mother and father if possible but have exhausted all the avenues open to me at the moment.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

I would purchase the birth certificate found by Nanny Jan 1907

They separated males and females in the workhouse, but there is a good possibility that Violet May age1 and Janie Benney (born Camborne) age 25 are his sister and his mother.

Violet May was registered Redruth 1910  no mothers name given.

In 1901 Janie is a servant age 14 born Camborne

1891 looks to be the daughter of James Benney/Benny and Jane nee Pooley who were married 30 April 1864 at Tuckingmill Cornwall, transcription only so no witnesses listed.

I will follow the advice given and try to establish a link between Janey, Violet and Edward Charles.
