Advice on splitting a family tree

My half sister is having a DNA test and will be wanting to start her own family tee at some point.

My question is what would be the best way for me to edit my tree and produce a copy that just includes the parts that are relevant to her.

I have copies of my tree on Ancestry and WikiTree and of course I can produce a GEDCOM.

Advice/suggestions/software recommendations  would all be appreciated.

I'd give her the GEDCOM and let her do the pruning.

You don't say where you keep your master copy - is it in a computer package or on the web?  A software package should be able to let you select any subset of members and then export that subset as a GEDCOM file.  Shouldn't take you more than a few minutes.

Thank you for the suggestions. My favourite solution would also be for my sister to do it herself but unfortunately she's not able.
I'll check out the WikiTree guide and have another look at Family Tree Maker to see if I've missed something obvious.

Interesting that Wikitree doesn't allow trees over with 5000 people so they have to be split. If I wanted to upload mine (not saying that I do ATM) I'd have to split it. Obviously into my father's and mother's trees - no overlap bar me and my sister. But my tree is so lopsided towards my mother's side (father's in Wales and Borders with the ridiculously common surnames) that I'd have to split it again at my maternal grandparents - still the same problem, that grandmother's branch much smaller as only one of her parents known - and similarly with my other great grandmother's family - one side not totally proven.

In fact I suspect the sub-tree of my mother's father's father's parents - the Skelceys and Drapers of Cubbington - is so big that it may be over 5000. It is so intertwined with cousin marriages and siblings marrying siblings that it's unsplittable. But my question is - is there any software or site that enables you to ascertain how many people there are in a sub-branch of a tree? Short of doing it yourself manually - I'm sure I'd miscount at some point.

I guess that what I was looking for was some sort of graphical interface to ease the process; and that's what I finally used.
I took a GEDCOM of my current tree, uploaded it to Ancestry under the new name, then I was able to easily delete the required (rather the NOT required) individuals. When I had it as I wanted it I downloaded the new tree to FTM, made sure that the 2 new trees were linked to each other and not to my existing tree and Bob's my uncle - but no longer my sister's.
