Hi Guys.

I hope someone can help me with this one

When I enter a marriage, it appears in both the Bride and Grooms box.
I would like it to appear in just the Brides.

I am a bit wary of "Fiddling" about, in case I make a mistake and lose the lot.A bit of a technophobe really.

Do you mean in a diagram? Or in the Focus window or Property box? (Though there's less scope for customising those two.)

I'm not too hot on diagrams as I don't use them much, but if you could provide a screenshot of what's happening, maybe someone else would be able to suggest something.

Attached diagram may help with identifying the different areas.

If it is one of these windows then the marriage is shown with the bride and groom. If the marriage details are changed under one individual, they will automatically change for the other.  I'm also not sure you can change the layout of these windows, but I only have v3.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to record marriage details for one party only, but if necessary I suppose you could add it to the notes for that person.  Any children of the marriage would have 'unknown person' as a father though, wouldn't they?

(In case anyone is worried about bluesofa's screenshot showing living people's details, that's actually a fictitious family that FH gives you for practice exercises.)

I've checked my FH trees and the only way that I can see to enter the marriage date for the woman and not the husband is to leave the field blank on the record but add it to the notes section for the woman, as Carol says.

You have a wicked sense of humour 

IF the original question concerned diagrams the easiest way to make changes to the text is
Open the Diagram (tree/chart)
Right click on an empty space
select Diagram Options
Select the Text Tab
make your choice from the standard layouts (or create your own by mixing & matching and then saving it as a new scheme)
click on Apply and then OK

The text scheme I use is a simple one "Birth Marriage Death" and gives this kind of result
