Thomas Blake 1920 ? Wife - Doris E. Cain 1925?
« on: Sunday 03 December 17 11:12 GMT (UK) »
Morning all.
I  am helping a friend with some research and all she has is her father Keith Gordon Blake 5/5/1947 and his father Thomas Blake and his wife Doris Cain. I have the marriage cert of Thomas and Doris, married 14th October 1946 aged 26yrs, Thomas. 21yrs Doris. They were living Mitcham in Surrey. Could someone help me with Thomas's birth please? On the marriage cert, Thomas's father is given as "George"
Thank you.
Maggie

I assume you have had no problem in tracing Doris  :-\

Registered March quarter 1925, Croydon - mmn Bishop

Sidney G Cain and Mabel E Bishop were married December quarter 1923, Croydon

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Looking at the 1939 Register poses the question - are Thomas and Doris still alive?

I can see Sidney G (1900) and Mabel E Cain (1902), plus two entries which are redacted.

Using that date of birth in 1939 Register, shows that Thomas was married  :-\ :-\

Marriage cert says " Formally the husband of ? Lilian Blake nee Reeve (spinster) from whom he obtained a license" Divorced? Gives his father's occupation as retired builder. Does not say deceased.
