That's really interesting, thank you - I thought there ought to be more children between Catherine in 1837 and Esther in 1843 to make the connections stack up more.

Oh yes, there was also Mary Ann Talbot born in 1835, I deleted her by mistake yesterday (!), so that fits again with the 1834 Bury marriage. Elizabeth (Betsy) was born in 1833, I wish I could confirm somehow which Ann was her mother!

It does seem to point to Anne Makin but as you say there is no paper evidence.
