Logging in to Internet
« on: Tuesday 05 December 17 19:42 GMT (UK) »
When I log into Laptop, there are lovely colours. But when Internet monitor is on it suddenly goes from colour to black an white, everything works but not in colour. Anyone understand why?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Are you using a wifi connection or a cable?

If you are using a cable connection to the monitor the most likely reason is a break in the internal cable or a faulty cable.
This happens frequently if the cable has been subjected to tight bends and then moved so the bend relaxes.

What do you mean by "Internet monitor" - is that a connected screen or a software application ?

I assume "internet monotor" is an external display (screen, or panel) that you are using with your laptop.
Either that monitor is faulty, or the cable between it and laptop is faulty, or the connector on the laptop is faulty.
Try wiggling the cable at both connectors, any improvements ?   Try another external monitor if you can borrow access to one. Try another cable if you can.

I think we need Zena to come back and explain exactly what she means. I read it that everything was fine and in colour until she connected to the internet. Sounds as if it is a cable fault rather than anything to do with the laptop.

Zena may not mean monitor as in screen.  She may be referring to an app or some software which monitors internet usage.  Just a thought.  But I agree more info is required.

Thank you all for your input. This is what happens open up laptop  enter password.at this  point screen is colour. Then open windows 10 the screen then opens up to black & white.
I normally use Google Chrome or Edge. The laptop is a Lenova with a Wifi connection.
I hope I have made it a bit clearer. finding it hard to put it into words.
