In the mean time, spend a few hours looking through Trove for Australian newspaper references and Papers Past for New Zealand newspaper references.  Both are free.

With a bit of luck there may be an account of the journey out.

Hi - wondered if this site would be of some background interest. I didn't see Stove come up in the crew list index but has interesting info about the British Southern Whale Fishery if you navigate up a level:

information from shipsindex.org

the ship FANCY sailed 16th January 1851 from Port Ross arriving in Port Jackson on 1st February 1851 with J S Stove as the master

FANCY sailed 28th November 1851 from Port Ross arrived Port Jackson 15th December 1851 with J S Stove as master and Mrs Stove 1 son 1 daughter as passengers.

This is the last sailing of the FANCY with Stove listed as the master so it could be assumed that the Stoves settled in Australia
