George Cordiner

Any male married in 1959 was very likely born before 1938.  Margaret Wood Strachan b 1896 could certainly still be bearing children well into the 1930's.

Looking at a George and Irene Cordiner who lived in Hamilton and wondered if he could be the George Cordiner Jnr.  Although nothing else is forth coming on that couple at the mo.

We have covered this before - George Cordiner Snr and his wife Maggie Ann are buried Eastlawn Cemetery.

The George and Irene I mentioned seem to be buried in the same area - so this could very well be the son who was listed on the 1929 passenger list for the Melita.

Looks like it could be the son George but until we get evidence of marriage etc can't presume its them
must have lived in area most of their lives where else can we look?

Found an article in the Toronto Star of interest -- dated September 23, 1946:

Mrs. Charles B. Woods and David K. Aiken of Hamilton are in St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, following an accident on the Sheridan Hill, Queen Elizabeth Way.  The car of George Cordiner, Hamilton, travelling west, pulled up by the boulevard, due to the dense fog. The car driven by Charles D. Woods, 21, came into collision with it. W. Aiken and Mrs. Woods were thrown out of the Woods car. The infant of Mr. & Mrs. Woods was uninjured.

Been in contact with lady in Canada she got info from someone else there and say's George 1894 son George was married to Irene? so that will be them in Eastlawn Cemetery
Also Maggie was married to H Thompson 2 of a family no details
She will send photo of  Grandparents with some of the family at an anniversary
So looking forward to that
