help with family name. "Gray".
« on: Wednesday 06 December 17 12:07 GMT (UK) »
hi everyone..  I am trying to trace my great grandmother's past, her name was Harriet or Harriot Gray  and was married to my great grandfather Joseph Brocklesby.  she was born 1853/54 fathers name was James.

they were married in Wrangle, Lincolnshire, 1877.
if anyone could help me, It would be greatly appreciated..  as I seem to have hit a brick wall!

thanks.

I see you have added the location ;D ;D,
I think this might be better on the Lincolnshire board, if you wish you can click on. report to moderator and ask for it to be moved.

Hi
It looks like she lied about her age on the marriage certificate. The 1891 census gives her as born 1856 Cranwell.
This is them 1871 at Cranwell
James Gray 48 lab Cranwell
Ann  46 Sleaford
Harriet 14 employed on farm Cranwell
Ruth 7
Thomas 5
Charlotte 3

Bapt 7/6/1857 at Cranwell. Looks like mother's maiden name is Ellis

Beat me to it Garrard!

You may find this site useful for Lincolnshire

My Lincolnshire knowledge is almost zero :) :) :)

Yes Lincolnshire people can see these posts, but may not notice them, I think you have 24 hours to modify your title, if you just add lincolnshire to the title it will be seen
