World War II fallen

I am in need of an image and circumstances of death for an Old Abingdonian that fell in World War II.

Philip Gordon Nowell-Usticke b C.1925 - died 27 June 1946. Although he died in 1946 his death was War related but I need to know in what way.

I am in need of an image and circumstances of death for an Old Abingdonian that fell in World War II.

Anyone who died while still serving, up to 31 Dec 1947, whatever the cause of death, was entitled to be commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission so if the OAs are correct, he didn't exactly "fall".  It may be that a first port of call should be the Old Abingdonians, failing that, his service record or local newspapers (although those on FindMyPast had no mention).

You can apply to the GRO for a death certificate - he's in army deaths for 1946, volume 3 page 132.
