Doherty family Crimlin
« on: Thursday 07 December 17 10:06 GMT (UK) »
Looking for information on Doherty family from Crimlin, Ballyvaughan parish, Co Clare. Austin Doherty born 16 Apr 1855, emigrated to New Zealand in 1874. His parents were Michael Doherty and Ellen Driscoll. Looks like his brother John married Catherine Driscoll and remained in Crimlin. Did he have a brother Thomas who was a shoemaker and also emigrated to New Zealand? Any information on this family welcome. I know the New Zealand story re Austin. His descendants are still there.

Hi,
I searched with Doherty and Driscoll in Cremlin, County Clare.
I see an Austin born in August 1855, says his Mother was Betsy Driscoll.
Also a Margaret with the Mother Betty Drisscoll.
There is a Patrick, a Thomas and a Matthew, the Mother is Catherine or Cath Driscoll.
You would have to check in  the Parish Book.
Parish of KILLONAGHAN.
