In that case the spouse's surnames are different!
But the first name is the same

And this is the partial image of the spouse.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Just out of interest I entered 1969 and 7c 1431 in to free bmd and the registration district came up as Salisbury!  Clicking on the page number does not bring up any other names, just the one set of bride and groom names.

So what exactly does 7c cover?
Ashford: Somerset, London
England: Devon, London, New Zealand
Holdway: Wiltshire
Hooper: Bristol, Somerset
Knowling: Devon, London
Southcott: Devon, China
Strong: Wiltshire
Watson: Cambridgeshire
White: Bristol
Windo - Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire

Hmm, I can't come up with this Doe/White marriage on either Free bmd or FindMyPast for 1969.  Why not I wonder?   ::)

Hi
I think FreeBMD is still finishing off transcribing the entries for relevant quarter! So if we put the references in there we probably get zero results at the moment. We will just have to wait for them to finish it!

Both Taunton and Wells were under volume 7c in the GRO indexes at the time. So, theoretically, the two districts couldn't have the same page number.
For example, marriages in March quarter 1969 on FreeBMD
Last for Taunton is 7c 901
First for Wells is 7c 903

Hence the "there's been a mix up" theory!
John

Very sorry - I used DOE as an imaginary surname, since it is possible that the couple are still alive. :(

7c is one of the codes used by GRO for Registration Districts - https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/images/GRO%20Registration%20District%20Book.pdf

Both the Taunton & Wells entries can be found on Ancestry using 7c 1431 as the keyword.

I also checked 1429, 1430, 1432 and 1433 but they are all recorded as Wells RD.

Taunton's page range may end at 1411 and Wells starts at 1413

so as I suggested before there seems to have been a problem compiling the index but there will only have been one marriage.

Thanks Dawn.  I just thought that it was strange.  I've obviously come across multiple entries for the same couples, due to name changes, but they've always been in the same Registration District.  It was the two Districts but same page numbers that raised my nosiness  :-X
