Love, lies and records
« on: Friday 08 December 17 13:57 GMT (UK) »
I just thought I'd mention the above-titled 6 part drama series currently on BBC. It really is most entertaining, set in the office of the Leeds registrar of births marriages and deaths. You could argue it's a bit of a soap opera, dealing with the loves, lies and records of the main characters but it is very entertaining and very well produced. I have no connection with the program and the first four episodes are currently available on BBC iPlayer full stop it is so good that I'm sure I will watch it again in a couple of years time.

Some of the subjects covered include (in)fidelity, homophobia, transgender, bigotry,  marital infidelity, teenage angst, illegal immigrants, forced marriages, and general office bit Chinese, and that the various births marriages and deaths that you might expect in such a venue. And wanting a puppy.

"Drama series following registrar Kate Dickenson tries to juggle her personal life with the daily dramas of births, marriages and deaths and the impact they have on her."

Yes, I agree it is most entertaining.Kay Mellor has certainly come up with another good story as usual. It is covering a good amount of detail that's for sure.

Having been a police officer for 30 years, and a registrar for a couple I can tell you that the procedural side of both jobs as portrayed is completely removed from reality, but that applies to most dramas (they'd be pretty boring otherwise).

Quite entertaining ....

That's Yorkshire for you.  ;D
The man refused to pay for it though, because it named his father's occupation  as a refuse collector, instead of the rich gentleman his mother had claimed was his father.

It was a priority certificate, although it should still have only been £23.40
