Help with Occupation 1901 Census

Please could anyone help me figure out what this occupation says on the 1901 census for John HUGHES B. 1855– Liverpool, Lancashire, England

I would say '.... D[oc]ks Board Clerk'. '...' may be HM for Her Majesty's. Do you have his 1881, 1891 occupations?

Thanks for your help. I've just found his marriage certificate which states 'clerk' different censuses state 'carter' and 'clerk' - will keep digging. So I guess he was a clerk for the Liverpool docks?

Reads 'M Dks H Board Clerk'.

So, clerk for Mersey Docks and Harbour Board.
