they're in Scarborough in 1881. Thompson is enumerated as Thos and Harriet as Harr. Thompson is a wine merchant

Hello Mabel Bagshawe,

Thank you for helping me.  That certainly seems to fit with his lifestyle as they were brewers and wine and spirit merchants in their original business.  It looks like Thompson sold the original business to Newcastle Breweries Ltd and invested the money in a business he understood.
