Violet McCauley died Oct 16 1951.  Obit in the Globe and Mail Oct 18, 1951, page 26.
She died at the QUeen Elizabeth Hospital.  Violet Cross, wife of the late Arthur James McCauley.  Mother of Ted, Velma and the late Leonard McCauley.  Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.  Unfortunately, there is  no mention of siblings :'(

Daniel Cross died Dec 14, 1940.  Obit in the Toronto Star Dec 16, 1940 page 29.  He died at his late residence 1063 Davenport Road.  Husband of Catherine Cooley.  Father of Albert, Hattie and Danny of Toronto, Frank of Calgary and May of Cleveland.  In his 76th year. Interment Prospect Cemetery. Again, no mention of siblings

Looks like James, Elvira and Leonard McCauley are with Daniel Cross in 1901 (see Sandra's post above)

Mary Jane Cross married Albert McMain 3 October 1883 East Gwillimbury Ontario.
Albert 23 years. Mary Jane 18 years. Parents William and Mary Cross.

Sandra

Mary's obit in the Toronto Star on Feb 22, 1947 page 24.  It says Mary died at her late residence, Armitage, on Feb 21, 1947.  Mary Jane Cross, wife of Albert McMain.  In her 83rd year.  Interment Aurora Cemetery.

No mention of siblings.  No mention of children either, but there are a lot of children on the 1901 census.

The marriage is on the Drouin Collection. On A*try=easier to look for MERTES marriages 1893.

No help at all but he does sign.

I'm wondering about William CROSS and Mary nee COOK and their children. (Newmarket in 1871).

In 1911 David still says born Ontario:
