The family had a whole host of children, at least 9 adding up births from1879-1908 ish, not one  a familiar name

Per an item in the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times of 2 July 1943 (page 5 ) his mother was formerly Clara Blackburn, his parents lived at 150 Monifieth Avenue, Dundonald. As a boy he attended the local catholic school, staying with the Embleys.

Shaun, are you suggesting the 1922 birth in Hammersmith area is incorrect, or perhaps they moved about

Pity we don't have marriage details of his parents 1915, that would be worth a purchase for  and more about them

It looks as though they were in Whitefield Road, Glasgow in 1933 - this almost follows on to your London registers L.M.  ;D

There's another item in the Burnley Express of 10 July 1943 (page 3)

- born in London
- came to Burnley as a boy
- nickname Teddy
- lived with grandmother Mrs M Blackburn at 21A Livingstone Street
- went to Clitheroe circa 1933 then later to Glasgow
- was a university student in Glasgow
- mother Clara Blackburn - the music teacher - well known in Burnley & Clitheroe
- his aunt Mrs Ella Halsall lives at 60 Brougham Street.
