James Albert Taylor & NZEF Reserve
« on: Sunday 10 December 17 11:33 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

James Albert Taylor (1880 -1920) joined, in September 1916, the New Zealand Expeditionary Force First Division of Reserve for No. 19 (Poverty Bay) recruiting district.

Is there any site where I can determine if James was actually called up and did any service?

I have the same questions for James' nephew, William Hughes (1890 - 1971).

Regards

Hi Maggie1247,

The best place to look is the digitized WWI Army personnel records available on Archway:

https://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/

You should view all likely digitized files in case first names were transposed.

If you can't find Army personnel files for the individuals you are looking for this is a strong indication that they never served.
