Do you know if Sylvia has passed away?

Have deleted my post above as this person may still be with us.

Have you tried using freebmd?

https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

a birth search there suggests her mothers maiden name, from that you can search for 2 siblings, a marriage search there suggests her parents were married in 1928

If you know exactly when she died, her death entry should give her exact date of birth.

On the 1939 register Christopher Arrowsmith (1938 to 2005) with parents Harry and Florence are shown with 2 closed records.

So did Sylvia die after 2005?

have you tried to find Harry and Florence's marriage in 1928 on freebmd?

https://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

What subscription sites do you belong to?

You can do a free search of the 1939 register at FindMyPast to get their birth years.

There are possible birth entries for both of them so you may have to buy the marriage certificate from www.gro.gov.uk to find out who there fathers were
