Hello to all of my root chat collagues. I am seeking the emigration record of George McGilloway born Donegal Ireland 1895. I know that he was residing in Belfast area as apprentice, age17, in 1911 Irish census. I assume that he may have emigrated1917/24. He settled in Philadephia and resided there all his life until his death in 1959. It is his emigration record that I am seeking. Regards

On the SS Columbia from Glasgow to Boston, arriving 1 Sep. 1923, there is a George McGilloway, age 23, single, labourer, last residence - Clydebank, Scotland, friend in country from which he came - Dan. Gill, 16 Graham St., Clydebank, going to Philadelphia, Pa., passage paid by sister, going to join cousin Miss Nellie McGilloway, 1939 Diamond St., Philadelphia, 5'10" tall, brown hair, blue eyes, born Burnfoot, Donegal, Ireland.

Also above him was a John McGilloway, same age & previous residence, same friend, going to join sister Miss Nellie McGilloway, also born Burnfoot.
