Mabel and Edith Harvey, 1901 and 1911 census
« on: Monday 11 December 17 11:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone help me locate these two please;

Edith Harvey b.1882 W.Bromwich
Mabel Harvey b.1884 W.Bromwich

These were born illegitimately to Tryphena Harvey,
Tryphena married Alfred Davis 1886, Ince, Lancs.

In 1891, they were all together with two younger siblings George and Sarah in 105 Whitehall Rd, W.Bromwich.

Their mother died 1892 and from ancestry trees the younger brother arrived in Canada in 1901. The step father apparently died 1912 in Staffordshire.

Thank you again

Katie

Have you found Alfred in 1901 to see if he still has the girls with him?

Nope can't even find him.... If the ancestry member tree is correct the son George Alfred arrived in Canada in 1901 aged 13. But surely they wouldn't have sent him over there alone?!

No I can't either nor little Sarah  :(

Maybe George was sent on some sort of programme?  I know children were sent out to Canada to work on the land.

Is there a passenger list entry for him that might give some clue?

I can see one tree with him on plus a photograph but it jumps from 1892 - 1910 with no info on how he got from one country to the other!

That would be the same tree, using familysearch.org I can only see one passenger list that matches his birth year and thats in 1906 and part of the Barnados Party.

Sarah has an unusual middle name:
DAVIS, SARAH  SWAN     mmnHARVEY
1890  D Quarter in WEST BROMWICH

1911"

They seem to have a Sarah S with them as a daughter in 1901. :-\

Sarah is listed as niece, and there is a daughter Clara Swann Davies, so probably Swann comes from the Davis family connection.

I think Edith might be with her grandmother,Elizabeth in 1901.

Transcribed as HORNEY on A*try in Pontypool.

It says she's a daughter but I doubt that!
