« on: Monday 11 December 17 16:57 GMT (UK) »
Looking for Parents of my 5th grt grandafather Thomas Wagstaff.
He was bapt 17 Sep 1780 Cockayne Hatley, Beds he went on to marry Ann Wilson 4 May 1802 Meldreth, Cambs.

His parents are listed as a Thomas Wagstaff and Sarah but I cant see a marriage on FindMyPast. A few trees list them as Thomas Wagstaff and Sarah Allen married 13 Oct 1766 but I have yet to find a marriage confirming this.

Then goes onto to list Thomas as bapt 1746 Wrestlingworth, Bed son of Thomas Wagstaff and Elizabeth Seare? once again I cant see a marriage or bapt for this but there is a Thomas Wagstaff bapt 1746 Gamlingay, Cambs
Then go onto to Have Thomas bapt 1720 Gamlingay son of William Wagstaff and Frances Rugeley.

I have Thomas bapt 1780 Cockayne Hatley. Son of Thomas and Sarah..
Thomas Wagstaff bapt 1752 Potton, Beds son of Thomas Wagstaff and Susannah Fortesque.
Thomas Wagstaff bapt Apr 1723 Sutton, Beds son of William Wagstaff and Frances Rugeley.

Thomas Wagstaffe married Sarah Allen on 13 Oct 1766 at Cockayne Hatley as per marriage transcript

As per the Wrestlingworth baptism transcript there is no Thomas Wagstaff baptised there in 1746 (or anytime)

Thomas Wagstaff bapt 1752 Potton, Beds son of Thomas Wagstaff and Susannah Fortesque.

As per FamilySearch & the Beds FHS Surname Index CD, there is a marriage on 10 April 1748 at Potton of Thomas Wagstaff to Susanna Foskew, ties in well with the 1752 baptism

Thank you for your reply. For some reason the marriage wasnt on FindMyPast.
I think my Thomas Wagstaff's father is the Thomas Wagstaffe bapt 1746 Gamlingay, Cambs/Beds. Son of Thomas Wagstaffe and Elizabeth Seare/Lease.
Ive found their marriage 2 Jul 1739/40 Hatley St George, Thomas Wagstaffe and Elizabeth Lease/Seare (There are 2 records one 39 the other 40 and list Elizabeth with the name Seare and Lease, I assume transcipt errors)
I assume Thomas was born abt 1715.
Most trees have him as Thomas Wagstaff born 1723 Potton, Beds and have him marrying Elizabeth Seare at aged 16 and having Thomas born 1746 Gamlingay then marrying Susan Foskew 1748 and having further children.
