where is (or was) Barnascounce?
« on: Tuesday 12 December 17 16:17 GMT (UK) »
Thomas Chadwick (1752-1812) lived at Barnascounce, which I understand was in Co. Tipperary.
There is no townland of that name.  I have scoured the 1:50000 map sheets covering most of the county but not found it.  The entry for Chadwick in Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland, 1912 edition, reveals nothing (except that his father lived at Ballinard); nor, as far as I can see, does the book on the Chadwicks of Guelph.  Can anyone help at all, at all?
Bagwell of Kilmore & Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary;  Beatty from Enniskillen;  Brown from Preston, Lancs.;  Burke of Ballydugan, Co. Galway;  Casement in the IoM and Co. Antrim;  Davison of Knockboy, Broughshane;  Frobisher;  Guillemard;  Harrison in Co. Antrim and Dublin;  Jones around Burton Pedwardine, Lincs.;  Lindesay of Loughry;  Newcomen of Camlagh, Co. Roscommon;  Shield;  Watson from Kidderminster;  Wilkinson from Leeds
