Her employer Walter Beaupre Townley is shown arriving from Argentina in March 1911 in diplomat service so that shows an Argentina connection.

AH!
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F3QZ-NCH

I'm beginning to think that she really was the Mary BROWN who died in Seattle in 1918 despite the father's name (John?). Harry re-marries in 1919 to Edith WARMINGER.

Gotta go out now,

Maureen

What can I say you have all been fantastic. Possibly she lied to her employers re her age?! or just an error.

My grandmother's mother (sister of Mary Jane) married well into her 30's but rather old although if in Argentina her marriage opportunities would be limited.

The diplomat employer makes perfect sense and the Brown friend is extremely likely to be James (Jim) Brown who we believe to be her husband. The picture with 2 boys in 1920 looks like that they would be say 8 and 6 years old. Either she had the boys rather late or perhaps her husband had the children from a previous marriage which I think due to their age would be unlikely. If a marriage could be established it might be possible to then trace the births and confirm that she was infact married. Her sister Bessie had a child when she was single. Interesting Montana is next to Washington and that adds to the likeihood that we are on the right track. Once again a huge thank you to all your detective work.  Mark
