1891 piece 1890 folio 79 shows Jane Higgins 17 yrs daughter of John and Mary in Curry Mallet.

There is a burial for Jane Higgins 22 yrs of Curry Mallet who died September 1895.

I can’t see a death for Jane Higgins so I wonder if she is the Mary Jane registered in Langport

My Mary Jane Higgins was born at Tatworth near Chard, Somerset. I have a postcard dated 26/4/1920 giving her address as route 3, 145a Seattle, USA it has a picture of her 2 children Fred David and James Gordon.
From memory I thought a census return showed her to have been in Hanover Square, London but I can not put my hands on it so can not confirm. Family knowledge states she married a Jim (James) Brown and they went to live in Seattle. My guess that she emigrated to start a new life in America with her husband or perhaps her husband was met through her work or travels as a lady's maid. As she had worked in Argentina she was used to traveling.
This has been a real mystery as I would have assumed that she would have married in this country and that I would have found details of her sailing.

It appears that on the 1920 census for King in Washington USA there was a James, Mary Jane David F and James G. This does sound extremely hopeful.

Can you give the details of this census?    I have access but cannot find any of them in 1920.

1901 she is in Sloane Gardens, Chelsea a Lady's Maid bn Tatsworth living with the Burnetts

I think I might have misled you. Annette found a death in the right registration district and then I posted that it was perhaps another young woman. You have found her though.
