Lloyd Roberson WW2 Naval Records
« on: Wednesday 13 December 17 10:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone

I am trying to find the Naval records of Lloyd. The only details I have been able to find are:

Name:   Lloyd Roberson
Gender:   Male
Birth Date:   15 May 1921
Death Date:   26 Nov 1992
Cause of Death:   Natural
SSN:   251120101
Branch 1:   NAVY
Enlistment Date 1:   4 Aug 1942
Release Date 1:   23 Oct 1942
Name:   Lloyd Roberson
Gender:   Male
Birth Date:   15 May 1921
Death Date:   26 Nov 1992
Cause of Death:   Natural
SSN:   251120101
Branch 1:   NAVY
Enlistment Date 1:   4 Aug 1942
Release Date 1:   23 Oct 1942

There was some sort of claim made by Lloyd in 1972, perhaps for a pension:

Name:   Lloyd Roberson
Gender:   Male
Birth Date:   15 May 1921
Death Date:   26 Nov 1992
Claim Date:   12 Jan 1972
SSN:   251120101

Lloyd was born Albert Lloyd Roberson although his birth certificate states Robinson. I have attached as much information on Lloyd as I have been able to find.

Lloyd's father Walter is a complete mystery and his parents never identified. I am hoping Lloyds naval records may provide some additional information.

Any assistance will be very much appreciated.

Thank you for looking at this.

Regards

Chris

Service records for Armed Forces personnel serving after 1920 are still with the MOD ::)

You can apply for them here:
https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records

There is a fee of £30, and you'll need a death certificate.

These records are NOT online anywhere!
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Doh! Just realised he is American :-[
It would have been useful to state that fact? ;D

For US Service Records you need to contact:
 http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/standard-form-180.html

Or the Department of Veteran Affairs

Hi Chris

I am based in the UK and can recommend the services of Geoff at goldenarrowresearch.
I have used him a couple of times for US army records and his service is excellent and turnaround time is pretty good compared to the archives.
Take a look at his services at www.goldenarrowresearch.com His website has good examples of what you will receive.

Regards
KK
