WILLIAM TAYLOR & BARBARA HUTCHINSON
« on: Wednesday 13 December 17 15:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone
I am searching for the marriage between WILLIAM TAYLOR  &  BARBARA HUTCHINSON
They had the following children all Baptised Church of Scotland, Galston.

Agnes 1794 - Ross 1796 - William & John 1798 - William 1800 - Robert 1802 - Hugh 1804 - Robert 1806 - Gibson 1808 - Thomas 1810 - Elizabeth Seymour 1812 - Andrew 1814

I would have thought the marriage would have been somewhere in Ayrshire, given that the were all baptised at Galston, many of their descendants continued to live in Galston and surrounding areas.

I have checked Scotland's People and cannot find anything, other than what I thought was possibly earlier marriage for Barbara Hutchinson to a John Lawson but these had children overlapping those above, the other a Barbara McFarlane to William Taylor, Dundee but again they had children overlapping too.

I have searched on Ancestry and Familysearch and I have also searched Scotland as a whole and United Kingdom.

Can anyone help or assist or explain why I cannot locate this marriage please.

Kind regards
bendywendy

Sorry I can't help in your search for the marriage - I assume you have used an LDS facility?.

However I can add one more child to your list

"Hutchinson, lawful Son of William Taylor
Weaver in Galston and Barbara Hutchinson was
Born 19th Bapt 20th Feb 1819"

I have a photo copy of the actual OPR but my computer skills are not  too good (Rubbish actually).
When I try to add it as an attachment if fills the whole screen

Hi g forgeron
Many thanks for your reply and the addition of another child, 13 so far.
The occupation at least gives me a great lead, as I haven't looked at the actual images on SP
for these births, so had no idea of William's occupation.

OPR can you send it as a private message to me ?? if not I will private message you my email.

Sorry your email address is not shewing on your posting. As I said I don't appear to be able to send an attachment, what I have sent is an EXACT transcription of the entry in the Galston OPRs

Maybe I should explain where I got the entry for Hutchison Taylor from

The information came from the Galston Old Parish records, or rather what I call the "Missing" records.
It's a long story but briefly, whoever made the micro film records missed out 14 pages, from 1818 to 1820, over 100 births! I got the people in Edinburgh to check out my theory and I was correct. Subsequently they sent me copies of the missing 14 pages. Mass celibacy, my ancestors???? Never.

All subsequent lookups  and or extracts based on the micro film will miss those entries
