Mander of Dudley 1811 baptism help?
« on: Thursday 14 December 17 12:17 GMT (UK) »
I believe that Daniel Mander (baptised 10 Feb 1811 at Dudley mother Sarah) was my ancestor who went to Bury in Lancashire and married there. Also in Bury was a Zachariah Mander, also baptised on 10 Feb 1811 at Dudley, parents Thomas & Sarah. I was hoping that someone can help me by checking the original parish records to see if they were brothers or not.
many thanks,
Sharon

Daniel Mander was buried 22 December 1838 in Bury, Lancashire. Source: Manchester, England, Non-Conformist Deaths and Burials, 1758-1987. His age was given as 48 years. The grave number is 1342.  The grave was owned by Zecharias (sic) Mander, whose residence was Hornby Street.

I see Daniel does not name a Father on his 1855 Marriage Cert.

Also he was a Widower on his 1833 Marriage.
Marriage: 31 Jan 1833 St Mary the Virgin, Bury, Lancashire, England
Daniel Maunder - (X), Carder, Widower, this Parish
Esther Barlow - (X), Spinster, this Parish
Witness: Ephraim Haworth****, (X); James Dickinson, (X)

So 1st Marriage likely was;
Marriage: 25 Mar 1830 Christ Church, Ainsworth, Lancashire, England
Daniel Monder - (X), Carder, this Parish
Ellin Whittaker - (X), Spinster, this Parish

Another Child;
HANNAH Mander 17 May 1807 St Thomas, Dudley, Mother SARAH

Marriage;
Marriage: 3 Jan 1831 St Mary, Radcliffe, Lancashire, England
Ephraim Haworth - (X), Engineer, this Parish
HANNAH Maunder - (X), Spinster, this Parish

So looks like Hannahs Husband was a witness at Daniels 2nd Marriage.

As to Zachariah and Daniels Baptism, sorry I am in Australia too so cant help with a lookup.

Trish :)

Thank you, I do already have this information.
There is also a Mary born about 1804 born Dudley who appears to be connected, she married in 1825 in Bury.
And an Elizabeth buried at Bury 1824 age 69.

Hi Again

As promised I did a look up for you but its not going to be of any help I fear.

Dudley St Thomas

10FEB1811 Zechariah s/o Thomas/Sarah MANDER
10FEB1811 Daniel s/o Sarah MANDER
(there are no side notes on this parish register film so hence no clues)

While this film was loaded I had a look at some Marriages from 1808 - MAY1812 but didn't see the wedding of Thomas & Sarah as I had hoped to

All the very best

Phil
