Hi Helen , thanks for reply. Thanks to Dorrie who did a lot of research we managed to find out which Risks were related, as you say Robert and Alex were and John and George were also brothers .We could find no link between the 2 Risk families to say they were related. All 4 Risks are infact on the New Camelon War Memorial, but Alex was not on The Falkirk Roll of Honour that covered the War Memorial on Camelon Road . Councillor Pat Reid is setting up a fund to have the Camelon Road memorial changed and when done Alex will be remembered with all the Fallen Men.

Hi Helen a warm welcome to Rootschat.

I see that Colin has already replied to you regarding your grandfather Robert Risk and his brother Alexander. The other brother you mentioned was William. He served in the Gordon Highlanders and luckily survived WW1.

If you are interested I have other information collected whilst Colin and I were researching which may be of interest to you. If you make another couple of posts on here I can then send you a PM.

I have links to the Risk brothers, George and John through my grandfather. Both brothers had lived with their sister Christina following their parents deaths prior to the war. Christina’s husband served alongside the brothers and survived the war. Would be great to find the link between the two sets of brothers.

Hi KT1841. Our research did not find a link between the two sets of brothers.

However, I can send you a PM if you are interested in the records we found on the brothers.

Just let me know and I will be in touch.
