Happy New Year All!
Dave, if you're still available, could I trouble you with another translation? I think I'm looking at the birth of Zach. Heinlein in this one. But I'm also curious about the entry under it that looks like, "Otto."
Thanks! Steve

Hi Dave,
Sorry 'bout that.
The document is from Eisfeld, Thuringia. The year was 1716. Not sure of religion.

Hi Steve
Pheeeeeeeeew. Your queries are hard to crack. I got 75% myself and had another 3 people who helped me sort out the rest. Got there in the end. :)

off we go

9br (Latin abbrieviation for November)
10br (Latin abbrieviation for December)
Uxor - Wife
voc.ita  - vocatus [feminine: vocata] = call by name
genottauft – emergency baptism

Nummer 1:
d 13. 9br. Johann Casper Heinlein, Schuhmacher, ein Söhnl. gestern halb d. 12. 9br umb Mittag genottaufft u. heute d. 13. 9br in die Kirche getragen worden, Pate Johann Zacharias Fischer, Weber, voc. Ita

No 1:
d 13. 9br. Johann Casper Heinlein, Shoemaker, a Son,  yesterday the d. 12. 9br at midday genottaufft and was today the  13. 9br carried into the church, Johann Zacharias
godfather Fischer, Weaver, voc. Ita

Nummer 2:
d. 2. 10br Friedrich Otto Schade, Tünchern ein Töchterl. Genottaufft worden, Gev.(atter) Nicol Dresels Buchbinders uxor, Anna Catharina, voc.ita ist des anderen Tages wieder verstorben.

No 2:
d. 2. 10br Friedrich Otto Schade, painter, a daughter. Genottaufft , godmother  Nicol Dresels, Bookbinders wife.
Anna Catharina, voc.ita  died the next day.

These children were more than likely born at home and were baptised quickly because they were in danger of dieing. This then allowed them a formal church burial.

Dave,
I really appreciate that! I have no ability to read German, so you have been a tremendous help.
Happy New Year, mein Freund!  :)

Hi Dave,
If I could, how 'bout this one. This is from a list of addresses of emigrants from Eisfeld. The 3rd from the top, Adolph Otto. Most is in English, but I wonder what the German bit is above where it says, "restauration or beer saloon." I knew he was a cigar clerk. I wonder if this beer saloon was his address or where he worked. Now I know where I got my taste for ale! ;D
Also (I didn't want to impose on you too much) if you get a chance could you look at this: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=787909.0
Again, can't thank you enough for all your help.
Steve

Hi Steve

the left hand side column is titled "jetzige zu ermittelnde Adresse" present identified address

underneath
"Adresse ungefähr" estimated address,
Restauration or Beer Saloon, No 112

This implies that he was employed there. He also could have lived there , who knows
